Our commitment
I am committed to ensuring that bennyrostron.com is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. I actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of this website and adhere to the available standards and guidelines.
Standards we aim to meet
This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
Conformance with these guidelines helps make the web more user-friendly for all people.
Measures taken
This website includes the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML5 elements used throughout for clear document structure
- All images include descriptive
alttext, or emptyalt=""for decorative images - Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable with visible focus indicators
- Navigation landmarks (
<nav>,<main>,<footer>) are used to aid screen reader navigation - Font sizes are set in relative units to respect user browser preferences
- No content flashes more than three times per second
- Page titles are descriptive and unique per page
- Forms include associated labels for all input fields
- The site is responsive and usable at 320px viewport width and above
Known limitations
While I strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some third-party content embedded on this site (such as contact form integrations) may not be fully within my control. I work to ensure third-party components meet accessibility standards where possible and will address any reported issues promptly.
Assistive technology compatibility
This site is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack)
- Keyboard-only navigation
